Children on the frontline zones of Ukraine face dreadful circumstances. Although the primary mission of Project Ollie remains supporting students, there are times when we have to take extra steps to help these vulnerable learners.

Our team, together with our supporters, has helped hundreds of kids in the Kharkiv region. These kids face the reality of war every day. They know what different types of Russian weapons sound like and how it feels when the air defense system fails to intercept another enemy’s missile or Shahed-style drones. Blackouts, living in freezing cold homes, and the inability to communicate, study, and feel safe have unfortunately become a routine for thousands of children in Ukraine.

Thanks to Ukrainian volunteers, like Oksana Boiko, our team can provide some direct help to such children and their families. Recently, Project Ollie has provided support to the Popov family from Kharkiv Oblast. The family includes a 70-year-old grandmother and four children, ages 4-, 6-, 10-, and 12-years old. They were displaced from their home on the frontline of Kupiansk region to a village far from Kharkiv, so they cannot physically get the help offered by other local charity organizations.

The Project Ollie team, together with Oksana Boiko, purchased some critical school supplies for the educational and psychological support of these children. To help the family survive during blackouts, we  also purchased a power bank and a lamp that can give light for eight hours. Oksana arranged some warm clothes and boots, medication, and transportation for this family. We really hope that such help can make a difference for these wonderful children.

The Project Ollie team is grateful to everyone who joins us in our mission to support children and educators in Ukraine.

Every penny is used to help children and families who have been desperately trying to survive these difficult life situations because of the ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine.

We are stronger together!
